The Moorea Events Association, governed by the Association Act of 1901, was created in 2011.

Since the beginning, the association has been working to develop activities and events on the island of Moorea.

In 2016, the Association is in charge of the the organization of the Tahiti-Moorea Marathon and of the promotion of French Polynesia worldwide with this international sport event.

The development of sport on the island thus promotes the well-being of the inhabitants of Moorea while combining tourism with physical activity.

The objectives of the Tahiti-Moorea Marathon are:

  • Promote Moorea and French Polynesia;
  • Develop sport-tourism;
  • Provide a festive event;
  • Involve the population of Moorea and its partners;
  • Enhance the economy of the island.
